Obituary for Judy Rasmussen

Judy Ann Rasmussen passed away peacefully Friday, June 8, 2018, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was 78.

Judy was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Elk River to Bob and Viola Brown. She was raised in several northwestern towns and was the youngest of three children. Judy graduated from Lewiston High School in 1958 and worked at Cox's Grocery Store, the Lewiston Drive-In Theatre and

Orchards Elementary School. Judy met Bill Rasmussen, the love of her life, and the two were later married. The couple lived in Alabama and Texas before returning to Lewiston in 1962. It was there that they started their family in 1965.

One of Judy's favorite places on Earth was Priest Lake, Idaho. She spent countless summers at the lake with her treasured friends and family. She enjoyed having people over and was the ultimate hostess. She loved to crochet, sew, needlepoint and many other arts and crafts. In short, Judy was an amazing homemaker and enjoyed every minute of it.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; brother Gene; and sister Bernie. She is survived by her children, Dean Rasmussen of Cashmere, Wash., and Dawn (Tod) Burr of Lewiston; three granddaughters, Madison, Shaye and Abigail; one great-grandson, Evan; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Prestige Care of Clarkston and her great-niece, Susan Pedersen, who was her daytime caregiver during the last two years. And, finally, the amazing friends and neighbors of Judy who meant so much to her.

At Mom's request, there will not be formal services. However, in lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the Idaho Food Bank in her name.
